¡Bienvenido a La Petite Academy! We are a Nationally Accredited educational preschool and child care center tucked away in the quiet residential area of Plantation Lakes Circle in Chesapeake, Virginia. My name is Kyera Smith and I am the Director here at La Petite. I have more than 10 years of experience in Early Childhood education. I began my journey with La Petite in 2016 and have been with this location as Center Director since 2020.
Our school offers an engaging, nurturing environment for every child during their most critical early years. We offer full time only programs for Infants, Toddlers and Twos, Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten, and School-Age Before-and-After school servicing Centerville and Tallwood Elementary, Greenbrier Primary and Greenbrier Intermediate Schools.
At La Petite Academy, we strive to mold inquisitive young minds with hands-on STEM learning experiences in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. In addition to the basic school readiness, we also focus on helping children to be creative, to communicate, to collaborate with others, and to be critical thinkers. We pride ourselves on being an extension to your family and plan a variety of opportunities for family involvement.

My goal as the director is to provide a loving, educational environment that meets the needs of our children and families. I have more than 10 years of experience in child care and have been the Director of this amazing school since 2020. I take pride in our amazing staff, knowing they are the best of the best!
