Q: How does La Petite Academy support my childs learning and development as they transition to the next age group?

Our Learn as We Grow curriculum follows six core concepts throughout the year. Children explore these same concepts from Toddlers through Pre-K, but how they experience them changes as they grow. Our Lenexa daycare and preschool, La Petite Academy of Lenexa, welcomed its first families in November 1981. We are beside The Cedars and near Hen House Market and Legler Barn Museum. Our school's team holds CPR, First Aid, and automated external defibrillator (AED) certifications.

We have classrooms for Infants, Toddlers, Twos, Early Preschool, Preschool, Pre-K, and Before and After School Care. Flexible daycare is available through Drop-in Care, Part-time schedules, and School Breaks, so care fits your week. Third-party tuition assistance is accepted here, so bring questions to your tour. At Wondercamp, our summer camp, weekly themes run from Wonders of Garden to Wonders of Design, with outdoor play. Babies explore through Learn from the Start®, and Learn as We Grow® for Toddlers through Pre-K builds on hands-on exploration, like preschoolers building and testing structure and function with materials.

Dance lets children express themselves through movement, and Soccer teaches teamwork and soccer skills with friends. You will find both listed on this page. Ask about bussing with Christa McAuliffe Elementary School and Rising Star Elementary. On our age-separated outdoor playground, children can run, explore, and play with peers. SproutAbout® shares real-time photos, video, and care updates, plus livestreaming video of the classroom.

The classroom is designed with everything teachers need at their fingertips, so they can stay by your baby’s side. Sensory pools and mats, activity gyms, and other age-appropriate toys and materials engage all five senses, inspiring curiosity and exploration in a safe space. With a maximum teacher-child ratio of 1:4, your baby always feels the love and attention they need. Diapers and wipes are also included, giving families one less thing to worry about each day.
